Jan Zawislanski is a passionate and grounded clinician with nearly a decade of experience supporting men in their recovery from substance use disorders. As someone who has walked alongside others on this path for many years, Jan brings a high level of empathy, dedication, and purpose to his work. He understands that recovery is not just about stopping a behavior, it’s about healing what lies underneath.
Jan’s clinical foundation is rooted in trauma-informed care, and he approaches therapy with the belief that addiction often stems from negative self-belief and unresolved trauma. He draws from a range of evidence-based practices, including DBT, CBT, ACT, CPT, and other trauma-focused modalities, helping clients build the skills and insight needed to lead more grounded, values-based lives. For Jan, therapy is about creating a space where men feel safe enough to explore their story, challenge old patterns, and reconnect with their sense of purpose.
Over the years, Jan has held various roles in both outpatient and residential treatment settings, providing individual and group therapy, case management, and crisis intervention. He’s worked with diverse populations, including veterans and individuals with serious mental illness, and is especially passionate about helping men break through stigma, isolation, and shame to find real, lasting change.
As the Lead Therapist at Sacred Journey Recovery, Jan is committed to fostering a clinical environment that is supportive, authentic, and deeply human. He sees each client as the expert of their own experience and considers it a privilege to walk with them through their healing journey.
When not in the therapy room, Jan is often weightlifting, researching to expand his knowledge base, spending time in nature, or staying connected to his own practices of growth and recovery. His work is more than a profession, it’s a reflection of who he is and what he believes: that every person has the capacity to heal, grow, and reclaim their life.
